That might be a backup way out of this if they were damaged in shipping. However, depending upon how long ago this was, you may have lost that ability. If they were damaged in shipment beyond repair then the first thing Chip should have done is tell you this. If he did, the next question to ask is "What are you going to do?". If indeed he said "nothing" the next call should have been to the shipping company to make a claim. Again, I don't know the circumstances of how this exactly went down, but that's the way it SHOULD go...I know it's not always that easy. But if he did tell you they came in looking like crap, you should have taken it up with the shipping agency. Hopefully it's not too late.
